One test covers both skills

Take the Speaking test, the Writing task, or both. Do both within 12 hours and they count as one test.

Speaking

  • All three parts, in order, like the real exam.
  • Questions drawn from a bank of current IELTS-style topics.
  • You see what we heard you say, with uncertain words marked.
  • Replay your own recordings next to that transcript for 72 hours, so you can hear exactly where you slipped.
  • Feedback on fluency, vocabulary, grammar and how you organise your ideas, quoting your own words.

Writing Task 2

  • An unseen question and a 40-minute timer.
  • Run over? You can still finish. Your report notes the time you took.
  • Working on a question from your teacher or book? Paste it in instead.
  • Feedback on how well you answered the question, organisation, vocabulary and grammar.

Pronunciation isn't judged by the AI. It's best learned with a teacher who can hear you, which is why Alan offers lessons too.

Why there's no band score

Only the real exam can give you a real band. A guessed number can make you overconfident, or discourage you for no reason.

So we never give one. Instead, your report quotes what you actually wrote or said, shows what to change, and tells you what to practise next.

The kind of thing your report points out
Nowadays, many people isare using their phones in every situationssituation.
"People" is plural, so the verb is "are". After "every", use a singular noun.

The book behind the feedback

The 7-Day IELTS Band-Aid: Fix the 20 Silent Mistakes Killing Your Score

The feedback on this site grew out of more than 3,500 lessons, where Alan saw the same quiet mistakes cost students marks again and again.

The book puts all 20 fixes in one place, with a 7-day system to work through them before your exam. Read it, then come back here and test yourself.

Questions students ask

Does BandNotIncluded give band scores?

No. Only the real exam can give you a real band, and a guessed number can make you overconfident or discourage you for no reason. Instead, your report quotes what you actually wrote or said, shows what to change, and tells you what to practise next.

Is this the official IELTS test?

No. BandNotIncluded.com is an independent study aid, not connected to IELTS, the British Council, IDP or Cambridge. The questions are IELTS-style and timed like the real exam, so you can practise under realistic conditions.

What does a test include?

A full Speaking test (Parts 1, 2 and 3, in order) and a 40-minute Writing Task 2. Take one or both. If you do both within 12 hours, they count as one test.

How quickly do I get feedback?

Usually within minutes. Your report appears on screen and is also emailed to you.

Does the AI check my pronunciation?

No. Pronunciation is best learned with a teacher who can hear you, which is why Alan also offers one-to-one lessons. The Speaking feedback covers fluency, vocabulary, grammar and how you organise your ideas.

Can I use my own Writing question?

Yes. If you're working on a question from your teacher or a book, paste it in instead of taking an unseen one.

What happens to my recordings and essays?

They are deleted after 72 hours. Until then you can read your reports again and replay your own recordings.

How much does it cost?

The free pass gives you 3 tests or 3 days, whichever comes first, with no card needed. After that, the 7-Day Pass is $12.99 one time (21 tests in 7 days, doesn't renew), or Monthly is $29.99 a month (3 tests a day, cancel any time).
